Traffic and congestion in the Garden State is worse than ever. As of 2017, New Jersey had the nation's:
- 3rd worst traffic congestion
- 3rd worst commute times
- 9th worst road and highway quality
- 9th most dangerous roads and highways
- F grades across the state in air quality from the American Lung Association
New Jersey's pervasive traffic and congestion issues drastically reduces quality of life, exposes residents to unnecessary health risks, and stifles economic activity.
Fed up of waiting in traffic? So are we. The New Jersey Commuters Alliance is mobilizing to support of common sense infrastructure projects designed to greatly reduce commute times, repair quality of life for residents, and stimulate economic activity throughout New Jersey. To meet this goal, we call on state's elected officials and the trustees of the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) to take a crucial first step in this process by allocating necessary funding for the North Jersey Traffic Bypass — an infrastructure project that can immediately reduce traffic in one of the state's busiest commuter corridors.
