Pledge to Make New York a Cleaner, Greener City
New York City has fewer acres of green space and recreational centers per person than any other major metropolitan region.
This lack of green space and its effects are most severe in low-income neighborhoods. Those with the fewest trees and green spaces also suffer disproportionately from asthma, diabetes, and other health problems, as well as making them even more susceptible to social and economic difficulties.
Every New Yorker deserves healthy air, clean water and open spaces to enjoy. Whether it's by grabbing a plastic bag from a tree, picking up trash on your way home or planting a tree in your community, everyone can make a difference for our city and our planet.
Pledge to do your part in making New York a cleaner and greener city.
