Celebrate Pride by Supporting amfAR’s Work to Find a Cure for HIV/AIDS

In spite of the immense challenges, sacrifices, and heartbreak brought on by COVID-19, humanity achieved something remarkable in 2020 — medical science identified a new pathogen, discovered an immune response against it, and developed a safe, effective vaccine in less than 12 months.

The speed at which COVID-19 vaccines have been developed and administered shows us how powerful national attention and resources can be. They can save millions of lives.

With the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in sight and Pride Month days away during the 40th anniversary of HIV/AIDS, now is the time to commit your support to organizations working to discover a cure for this devastating virus.

According to the CDC, more than 700,000 people with AIDS have died in the United States since the beginning of the epidemic in 1981. Today, an estimated 1.2 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV, and approximately 13,000 people will die of AIDS-related causes this year. While HIV/AIDS is treatable, antiretroviral therapy requires lifelong diligence, and can cost upwards of $48,000 a year.

Will you stand with the LGBTQ Community during the 40th anniversary of HIV/AIDS and pledge to support amfAR's work to discover a cure? Add your name to show your support today!
