City of Antioch, CA residents only please.
In view of the death of our Chihuahua Louie, killed by a PIT BULL in our own yard, and the injuries and deaths of so many children I wish to petition the Antioch City Council to ban known vicious breeds. I have always felt this way but the death of our longtime pet has certainly propelled me to take this to the council.
I would like to present this petition to our council with the hope they would move forward with an ordinance to ban vicious breeds. I do expect opposition so please ask all your family and friends to sign this petition.
Some of the regulations we might ask for in an ordinance are:
1) All dogs must be muzzled if not in the house and on leash in public;
2) All fences must be 6 ft high and buried below ground so an animal cannot dig out; 3) Proof of homeowners or renters liability insurance upon licensing of animal;
4) Beware of dog signs posted in several positions in the front yard.
There are other things that will be added also which could lead to the elimination of vicious breeds in Antioch over the span of ten years or so.
