Petition to Democratic National Convention Delegates for the Democratic Party 2016 Platform to Strongly and Aggressively Oppose the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and to Strongly and Aggressively Oppose a Lame Duck Congressional Session vote on TPP

TPP will cause the loss of huge numbers of good paying, good benefit US jobs, as have other trade agreements such as, but not limited to, NAFTA and permit the work to be outsourced to countries that pay extremely low wages and benefits. Additionally TPP allows judicial-like panels to decide appeals brought to it by corporations or other businesses and overrule worker protection and other laws and/or regulations that a corporation believes interferes with or reduces its profitability or efficiency, making it impossible for any country so inclined to protect its workers or its environment as it considers necessary if such protection is not considered appropriate by these judicial-like panel.
