Nurses Week is May 6-12, a time to celebrate the important role nurses play in health care—here in San Diego and beyond. They are a central part of every patient experience, and they do so much to make sure patients and their families receive the medical attention and care they need. At Scripps Health, we have a team of 4,300 dedicated nurses, who help make Scripps a premier health care system in the nation. All of our nurses do so much to help our patients and improve their lives. One of our Scripps patients, Amanda Thrower, shared a story about her nurse, Noor Diab, RN, who helped deliver her child:
"I arrived in Labor & Delivery excited to meet my first baby, but terrified of the process. The upside of having a 30-hour labor was being a patient of Noor's for two of her shifts. Anytime she came into the room, I felt a huge relief. Noor, you are such a sweetheart and an incredible nurse. You and the other nurses and midwives made me feel so comfortable. Mitch, Finn and I are so grateful for you. See you for the next babies!"
