Take a Stand for Worker Rights in Africa

On April 24, 2013, an eight-story garment factory collapsed in Bangladesh killing 1,129 people. This is just one of many such garment factory accidents around the world, where workers receive as little as $2 per day. How many people have suffered and died to make the pair of shoes you're wearing?

Around the world, workers are toiling in terrible conditions and receive extremely low wages. Often, sweatshop workers, many of them women, struggle just to feed their families.

We have a chance to stand up and put a stop to this cycle of poverty. By buying from companies that are committed to upholding fair labor standards, we can help empower workers and strengthen local economies through trade, not aid.

Oliberté, producer of the world's first ever Fair Trade Certified footwear, works to create fair jobs at its factory in Ethiopia and partners with local suppliers, farmers, and craftsmen to produce premium products in Africa.

As consumers, it's our responsibility to make sure the products we consume don't cause harm to others in this world. Take a stand today against unfair labor practices and help lift people out of poverty through trade, not aid.
