Wasn't Flint enough? Wasn't Jackson enough? PROTECT OUR WATER.

The Supreme Court recently heard arguments for Sackett v. EPA, a case which will determine if our wetlands and other waters can be protected under the Clean Water Act. If the Court overturns these long-standing safeguards, it will jeopardize the waters our families and communities depend on.

We need your help. The water crises in Flint, Michigan and Jackson, Mississippi clearly show that we need MORE more protections for our streams, wetlands, lakes, rivers, and other waters — not less!

Last year, the EPA proposed a rule to protect our waters under the Clean Water Act.

Help deliver 10,000 signatures to urge the Biden administration to finalize protections for our waters. If we can show enough public support for the EPA's finalized rule, we can send a signal to the Court not to gut these protections.
I'm a member of the League of Conservation Voters and someone who is concerned about our clean water, and I'm asking you to quickly finalize the Biden administration's proposed rule to define which waters are protected under the Clean Water Act.

As you know, the Supreme Court right now is considering the arguments in the Sackett v. EPA case, and may gut our safeguards under the Clean Water Act. Without federal protections, corporate polluters could freely dump into our streams and destroy wetlands that protect against flooding and provide clean drinking water.

And as climate change brings about more severe storms and flooding, now is when we can least afford to weaken the such protections for waters that protect our families and communities from excessive flooding. What's more, the water crises in Flint, Michigan and Jackson, Mississippi make clear we need to be doing more, not less, to protect the waters our communities and families depend on to live healthy, thriving lives.

I am urging the Biden administration to quickly finalize your WOTUS rule defining which waters should be protected under the Clean Water Act to hopefully dissuade the Court from gutting our water safeguards. Together, we can demonstrate that the administration and the public support strong protections for our clean water and the EPA's authority to ensure every community, no matter their race, zip code, or income, has access to the clean water they need and deserve.

Sincerely,
[your name]
