DEMAND THAT JUSTICE IS SERVED IN ARMENIA FOR ZARUHI

On October 1, 2010, Zaruhi Petrosyan, a 20 year old mother in Armenia, died from physical injuries she sustained. Her husband, Yanis Sarkisov, was arrested in connection with her death and currently faces trial in Armenia.

Currently, Armenia has no domestic violence laws and the government provides no support for victims of domestic violence.  In addition, many in Armenia who witness domestic violence do not speak out, fearing for their own safety.

This petition serves to bring attention to domestic violence in Armenia and to ensure that justice is served in connection with Zaruhi's death.  Demand that a fair investigation and trial be conducted in Armenia and that those judged responsible for her death be punished.

Domestic violence is not an Armenian tradition...it's an Armenian tragedy.
