Education on Purpose
If you feel mad as HELL from being jerked around by ATL (Tech)...Make a difference with a united voice!
This Fall 2009, Atlanta Technical College registered over 1000 more students than previous semesters. At the beginning of registration students met many misfortunes resulting in standing in long lines because of the lack of support from ATC staff and adminisration. Well into the semester, students are still dealing with difficulties such as not receiving proper funds for books and school material owned to them in a timely fashion due to staff error, staff exerting attitudes towards students; therefore leaving them unable to properly communicate with admministration for advisement and instruction, and much more.
The lack of support from the school can and will hinder and discourage many students from getting the education they deserve. We have the power to stop this from happening and WE WILL because WE CAN!!!
This is your chance to make a difference!
STAND UP...LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
We the undersigned want to see a change in the administrative system at Atlanta Technical College.
We will no longer stand by and allow the staff and administration to push our concerns aside while we suffer financially and academically.
We have called your administration for assistance with our concerns only to reach full voicemails. We then traveled to the ATC just to be misinformed and misguided about our admission status and financial aid. We waited in long lines day after day to resolve problems at no fault to us. And when we asked for help, we still ended up having to do everything on our own.
We are being hindered from our education because of the lack of support from your staff and administration. We must have our needs met and we demand an immediate change.
We suggest that ATC be better organized and operational from here on. We will meet our deadlines and submit the proper materials, but ATC must comply with administering the appropriate amount of staff support and assistance to abide by the following:
1. Have sufficient amount of staff in office to handle the increased volume of enrolled students to prevent waiting hours in lines.
2. Make it possible for administration to be contacted and respond in a timely manner to address student questions and concerns. This includes phone, fax, and email specifically.
3. Provide a way for students to effectively obtain registration through Banner Web without the inconvenience of having to require unneccessary overrides for available classes (returning students only).
4. Provide students with better options to receive financial aid funds.
We appreciate you for hearing our concerns. We are ready for change because we deserve Education on Purpose!
Thank you
