It's a sad day when a fourteen-year old girl's sexual activities are published on Youtube and Facebook--and play for four days. It's even sadder when she's the only one paying the price for her indiscretion.
The teen, widely known on the internet as "Amber Cole," has changed schools since a graphic video featuring her and another student went viral. The other participants in the video are students at Douglas High School in Baltimore, according to local TV news station WJZ. The same broadcast tells us that the Baltimore School system is "working with the families of the students allegedly involved . . . to make sure they receive the support they need."
Clearly, the emotional damage from this incident is unequally distributed. The girl is reviled, ogled, and has to change schools while the boys involved go unprosecuted.
Tell Baltimore schools and Baltimore judicial system to prosecute the other participants in the video under child pornography laws.
We the undersigned understand that all participants in the "Amber Cole" video were high school students. However, the girl in the video has so far born all the consequences of their combined actions, and her father believes she did not know she was being recorded. We therefore respectfully ask that the other participants in the video be charged under child pornography laws and prosecuted in Maryland's judicial system.
