Canada, Eliminate Paternity Fraud by Making Paternity Tests Mandatory

Paternity and identity fraud happens too often in Canada. When both parents are not listed on the birth certificate, it is easy to change the name and the identity of the child. This opens a door to identity and paternal fraud. It also makes it easier for one parent to change their child's name and abduct them. This jeopardizes both the parents' and the child's rights.

According to the Montreal Gazette, The Canadian Children's Rights Council would like paternity tests to be required when the child is born in order to eliminate potential fraud. Without a change to the current system, more and more children will be at risk for parental fraud and parental abductions.

Demand that the Canadian Prime Minister and the Minister of Health change the current system, because too many children are at risk. Make it mandatory to require paternity tests at birth in order to stop from happening.

We the undersigned, demand that the Canadian government implement a mandatory policy of paternity tests when a child is born. Parents are too often able to abduct their children due to the lack of information on their birth certificates. Having the birth certificates not filled out completely opens the door to paternal and identity fraud. This can be rectified by having both parents submit a paternity test when the child is born.

Please change the current system as too many children are at risk.
Thank you.
