No shark should suffer. Save the Grey Nurse!!!!!

The Grey Nurse Shark is an endangered species in Australian waters, with less then 500 estimated to be left in NSW waters. These sharks are beautiful, slow-moving sharks that have been described as the 'Labradors of the sea'. These sharks need our help, fast!!!!!

We the undersigned would like to draw your attention to the situation of the Grey Nurse Shark. Many of them are killed because of people fishing in the waters where they live, and many getting caught on hooks, or injured by other fishing equipment. Also the Grey Nurse Shark, like many other species, is hunted for their fins which are used to make shark fin soup. The process of removing the fins off the shark is relatively quick, so many sharks survive the process, and are thrown back in the waters to try and survive on their own. This is made hard as they can't swim as fast as usual, and other sharks will prey on them as they are an easy target. This, teamed up with the injuries they get for fishing equipment, means that these beautiful sharks have it tough, and this is not a good thing as there is already so few of them left. The sharks are in need of protection by creating more reserves where large numbers live. Every one of these sharks is a precious thing, and need to be treated as such. It would be such a shame to lose these great %u2018Labradors of the sea%u2019 forever.
