Protect urban tree canopy from property developer destruction.

The urban tree canopy in the metro Washington DC region is being destroyed by the unregulated free-for-all of property developers.
They buy up existing houses, demolish the house, remove all trees, and build giant "McMansions" to the limits of the property setback regulations with little thought to the effect of such development on neighboring properties and the "livability" of the neighborhood as a whole.
This is what is happening to a property at 7903 Kentucky Ave, Bethesda, Maryland, purchased recently by Douglas Construction Group of Potomac, Maryland. A small, ranch-style house has been demolished and four large, mature trees are marked for removal. 
We are petitioning Douglas Construction Group to prevent the destruction of these trees.
