Include Topics of Eugenics in the Alberta Education System

Alberta has a long dark history in the practice of sterilization to 'improve' the population. Nearly three thousand people in Alberta were sterilized because they were mentally ill, differently abled or of Indigenous heritage. The first step to RECONCILIATION is to start the conversation. But how can we have meaningful conversations if 'unsavory' topics are continually left out of the syllabus? Alberta is currently reviewing its syllabus for kindergarten through grade twelve. NOW is the time to promote the recoginization of marginalized groups and to start the discussion with the next generation.
