Protect Horses and Other Animals from Animal Abuse in Wisconsin

For three decades, 54-year-old Sterling Rachwal has been abusing horses in Wisconsin. In the latest case, a woman nearly bumped into him when she ran to the barn where she was keeping her horse. She had been alerted that something was amiss by the barn owner who noticed her horse's stall was open and saw him running out of the stall.

When she checked over her horse Gringo, she noticed that he was bleeding from the rear. She then called the police.

Police already knew who it might be. Mr. Rachwall has a 30-decade history of violating horses for his sexual pleasure. This most recent case has spurred Wisconsin lawmakers to get tough on the crime of bestiality. A new bill will classify sexual acts with an animal as a felony, closing loopholes in animal abuse laws and increasing penalties. Those convicted would lose ownership and even the ability to work with animals.

The bill, which has already passed the Assembly, is now heading to the Senate for consideration.

Animals, like children, need the protection of the law to keep them out of the hands of those who would do them harm. In order to do so, stricter laws and punishments should be in place and applied in cases as egregious as this.

This bill is a no-brainer and it needs to become law today.

Help protect animals from abuse and support the new Wisconsin anti-bestiality bill. Sign the petition and ask the Wisconsin Senate to pass this legislation at once.
