Developer HOTEL AVERY is planning to build a large, 30 room hotel and a 40 seat restaurant on the corner of South River St. and Brockway Rd. Which is on the banks of the Truckee River near downtown Truckee, CA. This will bring traffic, congestion, and major parking conflict, not too mention the lack of need. The current plan allows for a hotel garage but with only 11 parking spots planned- obviously not enough to accommodate hotel and restaurant guests, not to mention their staff. This will undoubtedly shift the parking burden onto the surrounding neighborhood, which already suffers from limited parking, as well as high volume traffic on Bridge St. moving at high speeds. A major commercial complex should not be placed in the middle of an established neighborhood that is only creating 22 jobs. Sign the petition I am forming to protect the residential sanctity of Truckee.
