The Portland Beavers are on the verge of leaving Portland as a result of the PGE Park renovation for the MLS Portland Timbers. This petition is intended to illustrate the level of support to keep the Portland Beavers in the Portland metro area (Washington County, Clackamas County, Beaverton etc.)
With the MLS deal finally complete and with the upcoming Beavers season, now is the best time to rally a more organized fan effort for a regional solution for the Portland Beavers. The fate of the Beavers is not lost, even with a potential temporary move from Portland. As baseball fans in Portland it is time to develop a strategic campaign to keep professional baseball in Portland.
The signers of this petition will recognize the value of an appropriately sized AAA ballpark to be constructed somewhere in the Portland metro area.
The Portland Beavers provide entertainment on a regional scale and as such, the solution to keep them in the area requires a regional solution between local government agencies.

AAA Baseball in a metro area the size of Portland%u2019s offers a unique opportunity for affordable family entertainment relative to other higher level professional athletics. The Portland Beavers have a cherished history in Portland dating back to 1903, and are deserving of an appropriate place to call home.
Despite past efforts to rally support for the Beavers, the completion of the Timbers MLS proposal and the upcoming Beavers baseball season, represent the best time for a more organized effort for a regional solution for the Portland Beavers. The fate of the beavers is not lost, even with a potential temporary move from Portland.
The organizers and signers of this petition request additional effort on behalf of our local elected officials to take the necessary actions to preserve the history of the Portland Beavers in the metro area.
