Research for Treatments for Teens with Fibromyalgia

I have been living with Fibromyalgia for over 10 years. I know that there are many other teens and children with Fibromyalgia like me. But the FDA has not approved research into treatments for teens and children yet, and we cannot safely take medicines like Lyrica that are proven to help adults with this disease. I wake up in pain every day, like others with this disease, and from taking the only medicine that the FDA allows me to (harsh medicines such as Aleve, that barely touch the pain) I still have pain and I now have further problems with my stomach due to the harshness of this medicine. I just want to be able to wake up and not be in pain and be able to take the same types of medicines that help adults with this disease, as others in my situation do. Fibromyalgia is a real disease and children and teens with it deserve a life with minimal pain.
We the undersigned, wish for the FDA to begin research on medicines that can help treat Fibromyalgia that are safe for teens and children to take. Currently, medicines such as Lyrica are helping adults with Fibromyalgia, but the FDA has not approved them for teens and children. This is not just an adult disease. Fibromyalgia affects children and teens too, the same as artritis and other related diseases. Just because children and teens with Fibromyalgia are a minority, does not mean that we should have to live a life in pain. Please help stop the pain cycle by researching the possiblity of using medicines such as Lyrica for children and teens with this disease.
