Because better petitions have better chance of bringing change.
1. Use a picture.
2. Try to explain your case, don't use links, thats lazy. Explain.
3. Try to write in English or use google translate if you can't. This way more people are able to read and sign the petition.
4. Don't misuse petitions for advertising. There are lots of free advertising opportunities - this isn't one of them.
5. Try to involve some facts and not just a personal story to convince people. Do not assume people 'get it' only because you feel a certain way about something.
6. If you feel a need to include links anyway - do so after your own try at explaining the petition.
7. I'm not a grammar nazi but, if you can try to make your text as understandable and readable as possible.
