4th Grade Class Size: Request for Action

We were informed that the upcoming fourth grade classes at St. Patrick’s in Smithtown will hold 28-29 students, each. We are asking that either the grade is split into 3 classes of 20 or, each class been given a teachers assistant. We know the school is limited on room and budget so we feel the teacher assistants are the more likely route. This will allow our children to have more individualized attention in class, they will get answers to questions & any help they require without slowing the classrooms learning progress down, or having children struggling to keep up. One of the many benefits of Catholic School is the smaller class size and we feel that at 28-29 students per 1 teacher is anything but small.
