STOP OUTSOURCING OUR JOBS- USA
- van: Frank - A concerned citizen

We have seen rapid deterioration of our job market here in the US. We constantly have to struggle to earn a days wages while the rich and powerful in this country get more and more of the wealth and power. Our representatives no longer listen nor do I feel they care about our grievances and or concerns. We have seen no wage growth nor any job growth in this country for over 12 years. Yet we have millions of foreign people working here and abroad for US corporations and businesses albeit legal or illegally. It is quite obvious that these are US jobs that are being given away to foreign workers because it is more "Profitable" for a company to work this type of deal for the benefit of themselves. There is absolutely no regard to what benefits American workers and America as a whole. We all know very well that the only reason for outsourcing is to save money. If there was no money involved in this equation there quite simply would be no outsourcing. This wild west type of mentality will drive down wages and American standards of living into the future. We have massive trade deficits and all other types of deficits hitting this country. Yet our political leaders want to create even more trade agreements and deals even though on a whole we're in the "HOLE -BIG TIME". I recently contacted my Representative and spoke to one of his staff. I reputed every fact and figure that he threw out at me. I can give you a transcript of our conversation. Basically I got the feeling that he didn't really care for any of my concerns. American business, politics and citizenry has to start working like a team to help US Citizens and America as a whole. We have no industrial policy or plan on how to deal with so many issues. I would argue that although we are 5% of the worlds population we are the largest consumer market in the world. The only reason there are any consumers is because somebody has to have a "JOB" in order to be a consumer. I really think we're headed in the wrong direction here. It's like a race to the bottom.
We the undersigned would like our leadership to focus on creating jobs for Americans. We have seen a massive deterioration in our jobs markets. Our leaders are not focused on this critical issue. Yet we are focused on budgets, deficits and most importantly signing free trade deals with countries that have not only taken our jobs but is leaving Americans with debt and disparity- both on a personal level and as a country on the whole. We now have massive twin deficits with real unemployment and underemployment at around 20%+. Our country and citizenry is suffering due to the enormous mistakes of our past predecessors. We implore you to stop listening to corporate interest and to do what is best for the American population as a whole. Our future jobs market will transform into low paying service orientation jobs (which are now also starting to be outsourced). We implore you to reconsider your position we are in a race to the bottom if we go this direction. Thank you for listening to our concerns.
