Review the "Control of Greyhounds etc. Act (Northern Ireland) 1950"

The control of Greyhounds act (Northern Ireland 1950) is an archaic piece of legislation, which stipulates that any greyhound, whippet or cross thereof, should be muzzled at all times in public places, and not allowed off lead. The act also states, that owners of these dogs are limited to walking only 2 of them at any one time. DARD have also decided that greyhounds should not be kept as pets, should not live in your house and must be kennelled. Greyhounds, lurchers, whippets and the like, should not be encouraged or rehomed as pets. For those of us who own, love and KNOW these dogs, these "rules" are not only outdated, but dip into the realms of the ridiculous. Greyhounds and their crosses make the most loving, gentle and trainable pets. Please help us to get this law reviewed and help save the lives of greyhounds, lurchers and whippets.
