A 1-year-old Poodle, name "Ricky" by doctors, is recovering after he was found horribly abused, with a rubber band tying his snout closed. Ricky was literally starving and had apparently been left on his own with his mouth muzzled for weeks. The rubber band had penetrated Ricky's tissue leaving a severely infected wound with bone exposed.
Please sign this petition urging Ontario police to do everything they can to find whoever did this to Ricky and deliver swift justice.The Inland Valley Humane Society in Pomona rescued Ricky after receiving a tip from a good samaritan. They performed emergency surgery to save the poor puppy from blood poisoning. He continues to heal and recover at the Inland Valley Humane Society, and will eventually be ready for adoption.
Animal abuse is not something to be taken lightly. According to
HSUS, numerous studies show a link between animal abuse and violent behavior towards other humans. A 2001-2004 study by the Chicago Police Department showed that 65% of those arrested for animal abuse had been arrested for battery against another person. When examining seven school shootings that took place across the country between 1997 and 2001, another study showed that all involved boys who had previously committed acts of animal cruelty.
