Stop the Open Surface Gravel Mine in Benzie County

STOP THE PIT MINING ON OAKLEY ROAD. Mr Lehman is requesting a zoning variance from the Homestead Inland Township Planning Commission in order to commence an open pit mining operation on 150 acres in the NW corner of section 6 Inland Township.
The mining would create serious negative consequences to the environment, health, property values, water table, surface run off, and dangerous traffic situation.
