In a truly heartbreaking case of animal cruelty, a Great Dane named Stella and a terrier mix named Bella were rescued from a life of severe neglect. Under the care of their abuser, Stella was found emaciated and suffering from multiple medical issues, weighing only half of what she should at her age and size. While their owner was arrested on animal cruelty charges, it is unclear why these poor dogs were forced to suffer this abuse.

Both dogs were found living in deplorable conditions, covered in fleas, and in excruciating pain. Thankfully, Stella and Bella have now been taken into the care of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, but the emotional and physical scars they carry remain.
Their former owner allegedly insisted that Stella's low weight was due to her picky eating habits, but when authorities fed her, Stella was grateful to eat. Stella and Bella deserved better than this life of neglect and hunger.
