As most of us are aware, our teacher, or to some, our mentor, Ms. Fooster, has been forced to take a leave of absence. Since the beginning of the school year, Ms. Fooster has been "watched" by other teachers at Marietta and by the school itself. She has been asked on numerous occasions to stop doing certain things, such as selling her snacks that helps with raising money for the cheerleaders which she has been doing for years before, until she receives approval to do so. This is only one example of many. The issue goes way beyond the snacks. Ms. Fooster is a hard working woman and loves her job to the fullest, but the school is making it very hard for her to do the things that she loves doing most. She has a huge impact on the students attending Marietta High School and taking her away will only have a negative effect amongst us. We understand that you have to inflict consequences for certain types of behaviors, but we just ask for the school to bring her back as soon as possible so she can continue to work to the best of her ability. We would be so hurt if we lost an amazing and influential mentor such as Ms. Fooster, and we won't allow it. She simply can not be replaced.
