Human Sized Fairies in Artemis Fowl Movie

Let's face it; motion pictures have taken a LOT of artistic liberties over the years, from the ousting of Tom Bombadil, to a CGI Carrie Fisher. With the increasing hype of the Disney adaptation of Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl books, it is a reasonable assumption that the production will not stay 100% true to the original script (especially if they plan on doing two books in one movie).

The suggestion put forward here is that ONE of those artistic liberties be to make the stature of the subterranean People ...person-sized, or at least adolescent-sized. This would:

- cut down on CGI budgeting but more importantly
-make the characters more relateable to each other and to the audience

I for one originally read the books under the impression that the fairies were human-size, and it made for a bit more dynamic relationship between Artemis and Holly in particular, especially in the later books. I will be drafting a letter apiece to Mr. Colfer and slated director Sir Branagh but would like a survey of popular opinion on this view first.
