The Tennis House, located at 360 Moselle Place in the very heart of Grosse Pointe Farms represents one of our few remaining historic treasures and is likely the oldest indoor clay tennis court in the United States.
In 2013, ANK Enterprises acquired the Tennis House from the original owners at an extraordinarily attractive price and communicated to members their intent to refresh and revitalize the Tennis House, keeping the traditions of the club intact. Instead, ANK Enterprises has recently revealed their intent to construct a condominium development on the small 1.6 acre property.
For ANK Enterprises to proceed with their plan, the Grosse Pointe Farms City Council must approve both a zoning change from the current Community Recreational designation to a Multi-Family Residential designation as well as a variance to the requirement for a minimum of 2 acres for Multi-Family development.
