In recent years the Chinese have begun importing hundreds of thousands of turtles—mostly softshells and snappers—from the southern United States and now there are worried the large number of wild turtles captured could have disastrous impact on turtle populations there.
Turtle populations from the southern United States have environmental corncerns, many yet unrealized, to recover from after the Gulf of Mexico BP oil spill. Stop exporting turtles to China- ban the trade.
