Protect Tanzania’s Wildlife and Their Natural Habitats

The Government of Tanzania, wildlife conservation authorities, and international conservation organizations.
    Our Wildlife Needs Our Protection

Tanzania is home to some of the world's most extraordinary wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, rhinos, and countless other species. From the vast plains of the Serengeti to the wilderness of Tarangire, these animals are an irreplaceable part of our planet's natural heritage.

However, wildlife faces ongoing threats from poaching, habitat destruction, illegal wildlife trafficking, and conflicts between people and wild animals. Without stronger conservation efforts, future generations could lose the opportunity to experience these magnificent creatures in their natural environments.

We must act now to protect Tanzania's wildlife.

We call on the Government of Tanzania, conservation authorities, and international partners to strengthen wildlife protection through practical, long-term action.

    What We Are Demanding

    We urge decision-makers to:

Strengthen anti-poaching efforts by supporting wildlife rangers, improving monitoring, and enforcing laws against illegal wildlife trafficking.

Protect natural habitats by conserving migration corridors, forests, wetlands, and the grasslands that wildlife depends on for survival.

Support local communities through conservation education, sustainable livelihoods, and effective programs that reduce human-wildlife conflict.

Increase conservation funding for protected areas, wildlife research, habitat restoration, and endangered species protection.

Promote responsible wildlife tourism that respects animal welfare, supports local communities, and contributes to the long-term protection of nature.

    Why This Matters

Wildlife conservation is not only about saving individual animals. Healthy ecosystems support biodiversity, sustain local livelihoods, and help preserve the natural landscapes that make Tanzania unique.

Responsible tourism can also help create economic opportunities while encouraging people around the world to appreciate and protect wildlife.

Governments, conservation organizations, tourism operators, local communities, and travelers all have a role to play in safeguarding this natural heritage.
