We, the undersigned, realize the high professional responsibility which is connected to psychotherapeutic practice.
Taking into the account that psychotherapeutic practice and research must meet high professional standards,
We consider psychotherapy as independent scientific discipline the practice of which represents an independent and free profession.
We confirm the role of Georgian Federation for Psychotherapy Dendroni in development and implementing standards of qualified psychotherapy and join it in this effort. We recognize Strasburg Declaration on Psychotherapy and ethical principles of European Association for Psychotherapy.
Following all above mentioned we agree on this:
● Psychotherapy must be practiced on high ethical and clinical standards;
● Psychotherapy practice must be carried out with high professional responsibility, qualification and honesty;
● Psychotherapy as profession must be recognized and ensured to be presented with diverse therapeutic methods;
● Psychotherapy must be practiced with periodic renewal of knowledge, continuous professional development and sharing the best international practice and experience;
● Unethical practice and unfair competition are not acceptable;
● Psychotherapeutic qualification must be confirmed by therapists grounded knowledge of valid approaches of psychotherapy;
● Users of the psychotherapeutic service have right to be informed about the service they receive;
● All undersigned agree on the supremacy of the ethical and honest psychotherapy practice principles, organizations who deliver psychotherapeutic service must spread only true information about the qualification of their specialists, about their international status and local or international accreditation.
