FAIDA'S FIGHT: Uphold Felony Charges for Pitt Co. Men Accused of Beating Puppy to Death

On Tuesday February 19th a neighbor witnessed 3 men viciously abusing a puppy in Greenville, NC.  Pitt County deputies arrested Demetrius Crumble, Evan Harrington and Kendrick Fitchett. Investigators say the three men choked a 4-month-old Pit Bull puppy with phone cords, took turns beating the puppy with a PVC pipe and then threw her in a ditch. Because of the nature of the crime, deputies ended up charging all three of the men with felony cruelty to animals and failure to dispose of the dog. Harrington and Crumble both have prior criminal records. Deputies say Crumble also faces additional drug charges. The fear and pain this puppy felt in her last minutes is unfathomable.  This level of malicious violence is sickening and will not be tolerated in our community!

According to a 1997 study by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Northeastern University, animal abusers are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against people and four times more likely to commit property crimes than are individuals without a history of animal abuse.  Because of the violent nature of the assault and the prior criminal records, we the undersigned, respectfully request that the felony charges now pending against these men will be upheld and sentenced to the fullest extent.
