Put A Stop To The Use of IPads We Do NOT Want or CAN'T Afford!

Portage High School issues students a school issued IPad. We are to pay THOUSANDS for them by the time we graduate and any damage comes out of OUR parents pockets or even our own pockets. They put cases on them that our cheap, useless, and crack the screen but most importantly we are expected to pay for damage caused by their property. Not all students learn from technology or retain information given on a LED screen. I for one learn best from hand written notes with PAPER and PENCIL. Some students like myself still live in economic property and can not afford the thousands they expect us to pay for THEIR property. I can barely afford new school supplies or even a new shirt. I am a member of the NHS, A honor roll student, and try to be involved with school as much as I can but I do not believe we should be entitled to pay for their property. They force us to lean on technology. What if families can not afford wifi or do not have a way to a place with open wifi? It's ridiculous that when we tell them we do not have access to internet they tell us to go to a local place or stay after school. I have at least 3 hours of homework and the school library closes 20 minutes after school ends. This is more a hastle than it does justice. Sign this petition if you agree students should not have to take or pay for a school IPad!
