Bancroft Street Proposal

The City of Toledo has made proposals for street improvements on the portion of Bancroft Street between Secor and Parkside (the "Plan"). The complete Plan is available on line through the Ohio Department of Transportation PID 956686.
This petition is NOT against repaving Bancroft Street and fixing the bridge over Ottawa Creek and in fact is IN FAVOR of repaving and road reconstruction.
This petition expresses opposition to the following two points of the Plan:
(1) construction of a roundabout at Bancroft and Parkside and elimination of the street light -- in other words, the repaved street should preserve the intersection as it presently exists; and
(2) the "lane diet" -- in other words, the repaved street should preserve the four-lane street as it presently exists. If the Department of Engineering is capable of adding a bike lane through property of Ottawa Park or by expanding the street, this petition is NOT opposed to such measure.
