Safety in all Public School Buildings

The purpose of this petition is to develop  safety measures to protect the smallest and most vulnerable vitims of violence,This is a plea to take steps to protect our children. In the wake of the incident in Newtown Conn. and previous incidence such as Columbine and Virginia Tech shootings I ask you as the Government to take action and put steps into place to protect the innocent children. I as a citizen could not walk in off the street into the Governors Mansion  or the White House, then why can I walk into any School unidentified. This is a gross injustice to our children. Every school should have a video camera above the entrance with an intercom system for visitors to identify themselves with a valid identification. All doors should be locked with all our children secure within the confines of the school and individuals going through the identifications process should not allowed in until it is verified that they have legitimate business inside. Our tax dollars are wasted on extravagant police cars, executive dinners and vacations, spend our taxes on our children, save their lives. Tighten the belt of useless spending in Raleigh and choose responsible options such as protecting our youngest and most vulnerable citizens. I am tired of watching the most vulnerable die and government making excuses for our loss, Do something about it. Save the children.
