Demand ISPs Stop Carrying Websites Promoting Hate Speech

With broadband now classified as a Title I communication service, ISPs are no longer considered a "common carrier" but now an "information provider". This change brings with it new responsibilities and obligations. In recent years there has been an explosion in the popularity of hateful websites promoting white supremacy, holocaust denial and many forms of hate speech once relegated to pamphlets passed around at klan meetings.

The most well established offenders are the dailystormer and the 4chan politics board. These sites are breeding grounds for extremists and are having a profound negative influence on the next generation of young Americans. ISPs choosing to send their message to their customers is now as obscene and unthinkable as delivering a nazi TV channel alongside the food network and MTV.

In addition to signing this petition I urge everyone to organize and notify the ISPs top advertising partners about this matter. This is the free market in action. Let them know you will not buy products from companies choosing to advertise with ISPs which distribute hateful content.
