Demand Tanger Outlets improve security

Yesterday 4 men were involved in an attempted kidnapping in the back lot of Tanger Outlets. The woman who luckily got away with her 2 children had been alone and while she did park in a populated area that was close to the store she went into (H&M), by the time she came out there were no cars around other than the would-be kidnappers. She described them as standing outside the car with one by the back of the vehicle with it open. One of them came up to her but fortunately she noticed what was going on and had already gotten her children and herself locked into her truck by the time he got to her. He then went to the front of the truck and was yelling at her. She had to drive past their car to leave and as she was doing so she can hear them speaking to each other in a foreign language. She called 911 once she got into her truck and described the whole situation to Glendale PD. They informed her that Tanger has no security cameras that area of the parking lot and they don't like police to even be present on their property as it is "bad for business". They also informed her they have had MANY people calling in with the same complaint about the men at that EXACT location. By the time Glendale PD showed to the scene the men were already gone. Tanger security stated they had looked for them as well.

With all of the news of child abductions happening all over the Valley, businesses where this kind of activity is being reported to law enforcement, they should be required to increase security as well as add cameras on the premises so that 1: This will deter them using those locations to kidnap and 2: This will hopefully lead to more arrests and return of children that have been captured.
