tell congress to fix our infrastructure

Looking around the world, I see many nations with advanced infrastructure. One thing that stands out to me however, is high speed rail. Almost every developed country has one, Even Turkmenistan has one. A few days ago, the Amtrak accident shows how bad our infrastructure is. Bridges, are collapsing, roads are deterorating etc. Despite all this just one day after the the accident, the republicans cut Amtraks funding. One republican, Mike Simpson said to the democrats who proposed increasing Amtraks funding "Don't use this tragedy in that way. It was beneath you." John Boehner made an excuse that he didn't follow the speed limit. I may understand his argument but the accident wouldn't of happened if we had better rail. It shows they only care about the rich. Don't let them do this.
