This is especially critical to states like California that are actually taking huge strides to hold companies accountable and work to halt environmental destruction and even reverse it. We know that motor vehicles are big contributors to pollution and in turn global warming. That's why it's such a big deal that these four huge companies are willing to ignore the federal government and stay in line with California emissions guidelines.
This is what true corporate accountability looks like: companies understanding that their customers want them to behave ethically, regardless of government intervention. That's why right now is the moment to push all their peers to do the same, especially the other big players like Toyota.
