Please sign and share this petition in an effort to speak out to Delta airlines regarding losing pets like a recent misplaced dog while being transported by them. This is unfortunately not the first incident of a lost pet like that of Ty who is still missing while his distraught owners are still looking for him; and some answers how this could happen.
Mr. Frank Ramano took a recent airline trip on Delta along with his precious cargo, his dog named Ty. When getting to his destination, and even a week later, Ty has gone missing. Mr. Ramano just can't understand how Delta could just go and lose a pet but records show that in 2010 a dog named Paco went missing on a flight from Mexico to Canada and another name Vivi escaped from the JFK tarmac while being loaded on the plane in New York.
Mr. Ramano booked Ty on the flight with Delta to transport him from Los Angeles to Tampa; the dog was considered family and his best friend. Spokespeople for Delta believe the airline followed proper procedure and believe the dog escaped on its own. He and the other dogs involved, including other possible victims we are not aware of, would never escape of staff was properly trained and had a handle on the situation. Additionally, when the incident first occurred, Mr. Ramano was lied to regarding the safety of his dog, with Delta stating that 6 year old Ty actually did make it to Tampa but those facts were later found untrue.
Ty was a rescue dog who actually rescued him as well. Before bringing him home, the dog was micro chipped and hopefully will find its way back to his worried and concerned owner. Mr. Ramano later stated that “To me, it sounds like they don’t care. They sound like they lost just a piece of baggage. That’s it. He’s family. He’s like my best friend. He was like a big anxiety pill. He would help me through the rough times. I just want him home safe. I just want him back."
“Delta understands that pets are an important member of the family and regrets this occurred while this pet was entrusted to our care,” the statement from Delta said. We are now trying to encourage the airlines to implement stricter procedures & training when transporting loving pets; sign and share this petition worldwide on all media sites so that such occurrences never happen again. Pets are members of our family and deserve safety and protection.
Delta Airlines - Because of various past issues where pets in your care were lost in transport to destinations, we are urging you to implement stricter, more stringent procedures and training for all your staff regarding an animal's safe transport. You know that most folks consider their pets to be best friends and family members. No one should ever suffer the devastation of losing a pet that is left in your secure care for safe transporting. Ensure that people's pets are as safe and secure on your flights as their owners and never lose another!
