Urge NIH to Retire All Government-Owned Chimpanzees to Sanctuary

On January 22, an expert scientific advisory panel recommended that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) take the following actions:

• Send hundreds of government-owned chimpanzees currently in laboratories to sanctuaries.

• Phase out current funding of biomedical research using chimpanzees.

• End their support of chimpanzee breeding.
