Save the Devilish Orchid

A new and rare species of orchid may be extinct before we can really learn anything about it. The Telipogon diabolicus, so named because some people think it resembles the devil's head, was identified in southern Colombia. Only thirty of these plants have been found so far.

And they might disappear overnight. Scheduled construction threatens the habitat of this fragile flower. It's important to act quickly to save this amazing plant. Please join me in asking the the Congress of Colombia to take immediate action to conserve the acres on which the Devilish orchid has been found, and ensure that no new development endangers this species.

Dear Congress Members:

I was excited to learn about the discovery of a new orchid in your country. But I was also equally saddened to learn that this rare flower is threatened by imminent habitat loss due to construction. Orchids are, arguably, the most beautiful natural resource known on this planet. It would be a terrible loss if the Telipogon diabolicus went extinct only months after it was first documented. Please take immediate action to conserve the acres on which the Devilish orchid has been found, and ensure that no new development endangers this species.
