Support New Mexico Monuments

I PLEDGE TO DEFEND NEW MEXICO NATIONAL MONUMENTS

President Trump issued an Executive Order that directs the Department of the Interior to review prior monument designations and suggest legislative changes or modifications to the monument proclamations. This Executive Order threatens both the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks and Rio Grande del Norte National Monuments. It's not only an attack on our native and cultural heritage, but it will hurt surrounding communities and small businesses that have come to rely on these protected landscapes.

I support the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks and Rio Grande del Norte National Monuments. These public lands are community treasures that were designated in response to support from local business owners, local chambers of commerce, sportsmen and ranchers, local elected officials, Hispanic organizations, Native American tribes, and countless others. I oppose any changes to the size or protections provided in the monument proclamations.
