Oppose H 5690, Which Waives Civil Liability for Drivers Who Strike Protesters

This bill waives civil liability for any injury or death caused when a car crashes into a protest occurring on a public roadway so long as the driver was exercising "due care." It is an open invitation for people to use their vehicles to attack protesters the way James Fields did in Charlottesville. It will put innocent lives at risk and interfere with our constitutional right of peaceful assembly.
