Stand with James Wasserman
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
James Wasserman has been an honored member of the Ordo Templi Orientis for decades. He was one of the handful of people to save the order from extinction in the trying times of the 70s and 80s. He has since inspired many Thelemites through his excellent writings and lectures on the history of the OTO and its rich spiritual heritage from the Knights Templar and the Freemasons, and his passionate defense of personal liberty in American society.
Thus, it is appalling that some very misguided brethren decided to create a petition calling for Thelemites to denounce James and boycott his works, due to a slanderous allegation based on wild twisting of his statements to somehow concoct that he is defending Neo-nazis and white nationalism. Anyone who knows James and read his works knows this is preposterous, that fascism and white nationalism go against his core values as a freedom-loving Thelemite, and he has said so many times. Unfortunately this has fallen on deaf ears to people who seem all too eager for a political witch hunt.
In an movement as individual and dynamic as Thelema, there are bound to be disagreements on how it should be implemented in society, especially in these politically turbulent times. But let us use those differences to learn and challenge our own ideas, and celebrate the common love for light, life, love, and liberty we all share in Thelema.
Whether or not you like James's personal politics is irrelevant. If you agree that publicly shaming a fellow member of the order over a disagreement in vulgar politics is unfraternal behavior that should not be accepted in the order, please sign this petition.
Love is the law, love under Will.
