Stop paying for children to go swimming with the school

We need to stop paying for children to go swimming with schools and get the government to grant free lessons as they used to, it is part of there curriculum and an important part of gaining confidence in the water. Either that or the government should put up at least half of the costs or pay for one terms worth for each child. I don't understand why it isn't government funded. People with 2 or more children are paying a fortune especially if they are taking them to swimming lessons outside of school time.
