AKC POINT SCALE ERRORS

Dear Sir/Ma'am:
It has come to our attention that there are possible errors in the Division 3 proposed point schedule slated for release in May 2019. In trying to resolve the Division 3 discrepancies with the AKC Event Director, it was disclosed that cancelled shows in 2018 were used in calculating the May 2019 entry requirements for the allocated points. The point schedule has yet to be corrected and the errors appear to run across several breeds. This issue has been discussed with exhibitors throughout the country. Exhibitors from other Divisions have expressed similar concerns.
As a result, we are hoping that AKC will consider posting the annual data they use to calculate yearly points for every Division. By doing this, AKC would be providing complete disclosure, understanding and complete transparency to its exhibitors; this would also serve as a check and balance system for AKC. In the past, errors have been found and corrected by exhibitors bringing the errors to AKC's attention. However, to track shows, entries and cancelled shows takes a concerted, weekly effort. This could be accomplished via a searchable database on the AKC website. As a result of the current errors, some exhibitors have determined that it is no longer possible or viable to continue showing, a huge loss to AKC.
