The school board has decided to discontinue Chinese 3 in White Bear Lake High School. The Chinese classes are very upset for various reasons. We have been taking Chinese for years, some of us since elementary school. You need at least two years of the same language to get into most average colleges, but you need four years of the same language to get into a more competitive university of our choosing. Many of us were planning on taking it until senior year. There have been Chinese classes with eight people, and our class has seventeen. We know that not many people take the language, but this is important for our education. Our plan is to take action and advocate as much as we can to get our language class and our college plan back.
