The founder of North Bend DONATED more than 40 acres of land to the city of North Bend. The forest that also creates the entrance to simpson park is filled with unique and non-native trees from rewoods to giant sequoia trees. Now they are talking about ignoring a 100 year old request that the trees in this park never be cut down to make way for a visitors centre and a huge parking lot! This man's grandfather FOUNDED north bend and built himself the beautiful Shore Acres which serves as the town's main beloved attraction.
